Partner with us in our community impact.
Greater Douglas United Way began its first community fund drive in 1954 as the United Fund. The monies that were raised $46,185 went to assist the original five non-profits, all of whom are still member agencies today. Over the past 54 years the organization has grown steady and strong. In our 2014-15 campaign
, our 60th Anniversary
campaign, the community lent their support to our now 29 agencies, raising over $1,044,000
Raising funds is only a part of what is done at Greater Douglas United Way. The partnership with the member agencies also provides them with educational and collaborative opportunities within the community and with agencies who may provide similar yet different services.
Over 700 volunteers support Greater Douglas United Way ... some of the many ways they are involved is by planning and implementing special events, organizing the annual campaign, allocating the funds raised, and general governance of the organization. These are just some of the committees, in addition to our largest, the Day of Caring committee, who diligently give of their time to support the communities in Douglas County.
We are proud to be a part of such a wonderful, giving community.
