Bio: Frank graduated from Myrtle Creek High School in 1961. He went into the US Army as a Chinese Linguist/Cryptanalyst from 1961-1982. Frank then returned to Myrtle Creek to work in the family buiness Hanson Jewelers. He has been the owner since 2001.

Diana has worked with the Greater Douglas United Way at least 10 years now.
Bio: Although born and raised in the Portland area, my great great grandparents came across the Oregon Trail and first settled in Myrtle Creek in the 1850's. I arrived back in Douglas County 20 years ago. I run the Law Library and work at the public library as well. United Way allows me to give back to the community I am raising my daughter in as well as sets an example of volunteerism for her - she volunteers at the Boys and Girls Club.

Bio: I am married to a wonderful man, I have three great kids, I have coached youth sports for over 20 years, I was a volunteer leader for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. I have worked on the March of Dimes and Special Olympics annual campaigns, I love to cook, travel and spend time with my family.

Bio: Originally from Nebraska Gary moved to Oregon after meeting some Oregonians when stationed in the Philippines with the Air Force. Gary has lived in Roseburg since 1980, following graduation from OSU. Gary's other comunity involvement include completing Project Leadership with the class of 2000, is on the Board at Boys and Girls Club of the Umpqua Valley.

Bio: I have been an educator for 34 years. Five years as a teacher, 19 years as a Principal, and 10 years as a Superintendent. I have lived in Douglas County for 21 years with my wife of 35 years. We have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. I am a new addition to the United Way Board.

Bio: I first got involved with United Way due to a friendship I had developed with the Director. I soon saw throught the Allocations teams, the value of the United Way and the work the member agencies do. Hearing stories of people who had benefited from United Way was amazing. My involvement with United Way has shown me where there is need in the community and how by utilizing one organization, many can be impacted. I have participated in Allocations, Campaign, Communications, Squad and the Board of Directors. United Way has brought perspective to my life in so many ways. I can't imagine a better organization to be a part of.

Bio: Andrea is a 1986 graduate of Douglas High School. After high school she went off to college, saw parts of the world and decided that Douglas County will always be home. She has been employed by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office for a total of 10 years. Andrea is an active member of Umpqua Partners and the Meth Task Force. Making Douglas County a better place, for her son to grow up and for her parents and grandmother to grow old, is her most important mission in life.

Shawn is new to the United Way Board. One of my most profound impressions about United Way is hearing Anita Allen speak at a kick-off event. Here was this amazing, accomplished and poised woman who spoke of how she had benefited from United Way programs. I thought, here is a program that has proven results in changing lives.
Bio: I live here with my wonderful husband Ron. While I love art and the creative process, it's people who really make life interesting.

Bio: I have lived in Roseburg since 1991 minus 4 years when I lived in Eugene. When the opportunity came up to move back in 2004, my husband and I jumped at it. I've been involved in United way for 15 years.

Bio: Since 2001 I have worked for the Bureau of Land Management in Roseburg. I live in Oakland with my wife and two kids. Prior to moving here, I spent 9 years in Sitka, Alaska--a place that makes Douglas County seem flat and dry. I grew up in northern California and received a B.S. from UC Davis and an M.S. from UC Berkeley. By volunteering for the United Way, I hope to contribute to the quality of our community.
